Injured and in Need of a Professional Lawyer

Friday, June 19th, 2009

I was searching for a personal injury lawyer in Chicago had to assist me with my case. I had been shopping at my local grocery store when someone on the other side of the aisle caused an avalanche of glass pasta sauce jars to come crashing down on my legs and feet. I suffered from several deep lacerations and required many stitches on my feet and legs. While the person that knocked into the stacks of sauce with their cart caused the injury, I knew that store should be held liable for stacking glass jars in such a dangerous manner.

The first personal injury lawyer in Chicago found was unable to give me direct answers to my questions. I really did not know how to go about finding a lawyer so I looked in the yellow pages and called the first personal injury lawyer that I found. Not only did he seem unsympathetic towards my injuries but he also seemed like he was very busy and would eagerly accept the first offer that would be made for a settlement.

Although I did want to be fairly compensated for my injuries, I also wanted my lawsuit to send a message to other grocers that this stacking method was unsafe. Had there been a little child standing next to me, they surely would have suffered massive injuries and possibly even died. I really wasn’t entirely concerned about collecting money as much as I was concerned about safety and liability. By accepting the first offer that the insurance company offered me, I knew that my message of safety and liability would get entirely lost.

After doing some more investigation I found a personal injury lawyer in Chicago had that was quite impressive. The long lists of cases that had been won were comprehensive and the success rate was close to perfect. I knew that if I could hire this lawyer to take my case that they would have the knowledge and experience to effectively obtain a fair monetary compensation and send a message out to others that this type of accident could easily be avoided.

I met with the attorney for a free conference right away and was even more impressed by the integrity and level of understanding that he demonstrated. I knew that I had made the right decision. I was very certain that when I headed into court that I would be satisfied with the results.

Supporting the Troops Regardless of Political Beliefs

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

Respecting those who serve stretches beyond political lines. No matter who we may have voted for President, we are proud of the men and women who serve under the command of that office. Politics should stay out of military tributes. Honoring those who served and sacrifice comes before political ideologies and party lines.

Democrat or Republican, peace protestor or hawk of heroism, honoring members of our military is an important patriotic duty of every American citizen who enjoys the freedoms our courageous men and women so honorably fought for. An opinion on whether or not Americans belong in Iraq has no basis on the honor given to the brave men and women who serve there.

Military medals should be worn honorably because they are tributes to the sacrifices of America’s bravest. Our political ideologies are separate from that honor. American soldiers deserve our respect, no matter whom we vote for, no matter which political party gets our tax-exempt contribution. Military ribbons pay tribute to the sacrifices that allow us political freedom in the first place.

It’s the winners in the world of politics that command the military. Military medals pay tribute to those fine men and women who carry out their duties under the authority of the leaders we’ve elected. Political debate is necessary to any democratic society, but it should not happen at a price of respecting American soldiers. Military ribbons bestow a tribute of honor.

Where would those politicians be without the protection and security our brave men and women deliver on the field? Imagine Washington full of politicians without an American military. They’d have no legs to stand on. An enemy country could invade without ever firing a shot. Politicians rely on the sanctity of the American military. Truly, they protect our freedoms with their very lives.

We all may differ when it comes to the political arena, but honoring those who protect our very liberty to be political should never be taken for granted. Sacrifice deserves a parade. Military ribbons and Military medals may be a humble means of thanks, but sometimes gratitude is the best tribute that can be paid. Be political second, but patriotic first. Honor your country by thanking a vet, even if it’s just a handshake and a thank-you. We all owe more than we can give. We cannot thank them enough.
